Our late Patron The Victoria League has been honoured to receive the continued patronage of Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II from 1953 to 2022. She attended various League events over the years to mark special occasions for both her and our charity. Pictured below is the late Queen, accompanied by the late Prince Philip, cutting the cake during The League's centenary celebrations in 2001 and Her Majesty planting a tree in Windsor Great Park in 1997. The Victoria League presented this tree to the late Queen on the occasion of her Golden Wedding Anniversary. In 2012 to honour Her Majesty's Diamond Jubilee, the charity financed the building of a secondary school in the Pujehan district of Sierra Leone. Since then we have continued to support projects in Commonwealth countries including: Malaysian Borneo, Rwanda and Bangladesh. In 2016 members of the Victoria League attended the Patron's Lunch. The Mall in St James’s Park was transformed for its largest ever street party to celebrate The late Queen’s patronage of over 600 charities and organisations on the occasion of her 90th birthday. During the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in 2018 (hosted by the UK). Staff and students from Student House attended a birthday concert for Her Majesty at The Royal Albert Hall. It was with sadness that we laid flowers and sent messages, of condolence, on her death to her family. In 2022 and 2023 King Charles III continued his mother's support for the League following a recent annual donation from the privy purse. We were delighted in May 2024 when The King accepted Patronage. We are proud to have a long line of royal patronage: Her Majesty The Queen 1953 - 2022 HM Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother 1936 – 2002 HM King George VI 1936 – 1952 HM King George V 1912 – 1936 HRH The Princess of Wales (future HM Queen Mary) 1906 – 1953 Top photo of HM The Queen © www.royalimages.co.uk Manage Cookie Preferences
