What is The Victoria League?

The Victoria League for Commonwealth Friendship was founded in 1901 to promote friendship and understanding among the peoples of the Commonwealth. The League is a registered charity and is a member of the Joint Commonwealth Societies Council.

How is the League financed?

The funds of the League are drawn from subscriptions, donations and income on investments. No Government grants or subsidy is received.

Who can join the League and who can use its services?

Any citizen over the age of 18 of a country which is a member of the Commonwealth is eligible for membership of the League. The League’s services are available to all members and to all visitors from these countries.

Where does the League work?

Apart from the Headquarters in London there are Leagues and Branches elsewhere in the U.K. and in Australia, New Zealand and India plus affiliated organisations in Canada and the U.S.A.
